These are the key events on the 1,152 of the Russian War in Ukraine.

This is where things are on Monday, April 21:

Struggle

  • At least three explosions were heard in the Donetsk region controlled by the Russian in eastern Ukraine in the middle of a high Easter fire declared by Moscow, the Russian state news agency Tass reported, citing local “operational services”.
  • The forces of Ukraine reported almost 3000 violations of the High Commitment of Alto El Fuego de Russia, said Ukrainian President Volodyymyr Zenskyy, adding that kyiv’s forces were instruction to reflect the actions of the Russian army.
  • The Russian Ministry of Defense said that Ukraine had broken the high Easter fire declared by the Kremlin more than a thousand times, claiming that the Ukrainian forces shot Russian positions 444 times. The Ministry also said that Kremlin forces met more than 900 attacks by Ukrainian drones this time.
  • The Ministry also said that Moscow’s control of the Novomykhailivka village, in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, before the high Easter fire. Ukraine authorities have not yet commented on this claim.

Oil and gas

  • Ukraine may need to import up to 6.3 billion cubic meters of gas for the 2025-26 winter due to the low record levels of reserves due to the damage related to the war to some facilities, said Sergiy Makogon, former head of the Kiev gas traffic operator.

Cease-fire

  • Zenskyy said the Russian army made attempts to “advance and inflict losses” in kyiv’s army during the night despite the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin of a high Easter fire. “Or Putin does not have total control over his army or the situation in Russia is that they have no intention of making a genuine movement to end the war,” said Zenskyy.
  • The United States Department of State said I would appreciate the extension of the high Easter fire. However, the Kremlin said previously that there was no order for an extension.
  • Zenskyy proposes to suspend the attacks of drones, cruise missiles and rockets against civil objectives for at least 30 days, after Russia revealed that there were no orders to extend the hinglefire.
