Francisco Lindor homers twice as Mets survive rally to beat Phillies

Francisco Lindor better embodies the success of the Mets at home this season.

The Mets campocorto, fighting along the way, has been Superman in Citi Field.

Lindor’s outburst helped indicate a perfect beginning of the METS to what could be considered his first real measurement series of the season: a rematch of NLDS of recent years (won by METS in four games).

The Mets (16-7) have won 10 or 11 games in Citi Field to start the season.

Lindor was the day with 1,076 OPS at home, but sad .467 along the way.

Tylor Megill lowered its effectiveness to 1.09 on a night that launched 5 ¹/₃ goals without goals and combined a maximum of its career with 10 strikeouts.

The right hand allowed only one hit and walked four.

The Philis had their best opportunity against Megill in the third, when they loaded the foundations in a single single and two walks, all with two outs.

But Megill recovered to hit Kyle Schwarber.

Lindor jumped on a curve of 2-2 knuckles of Aaron Nola leading the game for the Mets and broke it in the seats of the right field.

It was the first homer this season for Winker, who entered the game with Anemic OPS .581.

Juan Soto rounded the bases in the third entry for an apparent three -run homer.

But a repeat review determined that Sotos shot at the right garden hooked the foul just before the post.

Soto was removed, and the Mets were left without score in the painting when Pete Alonso and Brandon Nimmo struck out.

Reed Garrett struck JT Realmuto to finish the sixth with the tie races at the base.

Garrett entered after Megill had retired Schwarber, after an initial walk to Bryce Harper.

In the seventh, Luisangel Acuña connected a single and Brett Bitch walked, ending Nola’s exit.

José Ruiz got Tyrone Taylor to hit a gardener’s choice before Lindor hit a fast 95 mph ball over the central garden, giving the METS a 5-0 advantage.

Max Kranick returned to the ninth mound, his third work entry, but allowed three consecutive hits before Edwin Díaz was summarized by salvation.

Díaz gave Bryson Stott a home run before hitting Trea Turner and Harper to finish it.
