F1 qualifying results: Oscar Piastri thunders to pole at the Spanish Grand Prix

Another exciting qualification time expects the Formula 1 grid at the Spanish Grand Prix. The last triple sports header concludes with the Spanish Grand Prix of this weekend of the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, and today brings a last hour of practice ahead of the most important classification time.

The week begged with unbridled speculation about a new technical directive of the governing body of the F1, aimed at the “flexible wings” that have become an important topic of conversation in the last two seasons. While the sport imposed restrictions on the rear wings to begin the year, the strictest requirements, and the tests, they entered into force this week.

While some in the Paddock believed that this would be a “Gamecanger” in the hierarchical order, which has not yet materialized, at least based on the two hours of practice on Friday. Both McLaren drivers were strong in FP1 and FP2, with Lando Norris leading the timing leaves on FP1 and their teammate Oscar Piasstri at the head on FP2.

However, several teams and pilots are on the prowl, and with one more hour of practice before the qualification, there is even more for the teams to learn.

10:40: The final lap of Stroll’s thrust keeps it in the fall zone, and Aston Martin’s pilot will leave in the first quarter. The final impulse of Bortoleto also keeps him in P11, and he will also be out.

Hadjar jumps to P6, which eliminated Albon.

10:36: Russell also tells Mercedes that he is “happy to give” his teammate Antonelli a trailer “if necessary.”

10:28: Alonso is back on the track, along with most drivers. Only Piastri, Russell and Antonelli remain in Pit Lane.

10:27: Alonso immediately returns to Pit Lane at the end of his return.

10:26: We have a green light in Barcelona with 15 minutes and counting on the clock. 15 drivers remain, and five more will be eliminated at the end of this segment. Alonso, Albon and Bearman are the first drivers to take to the track.

Q1

10:23: Alex Brundle in F1TV walks through Tsunoda’s final return, speculating that the tires move away from RB21 at the end of the return. “The car really doesn’t turn to him,” Brundle describes when Tsunoda enrolls the third sector. “It simply doesn’t have the front.”

10:21: “This is just a disaster for Red Bull,” says Jolyon Palmer in F1TV. “How do you explain it?”

10:19: Bearman jumps to P11, which eliminated his teammate Ocon.

Yuki Tsunoda has also eliminated the bone, along with Hülkenberg, Ocon, Sainz and Colapinto.

10:18: Colapinto has stopped aside and has been eliminated.

The heavy rains here in Maryland washed the double travel baseball header today, not only did they save a two -hour trip this morning, but allowed me to establish myself to see some qualification. FP3 notes

It was another papaya team command performance on FP3.

Piastri headed the synchronization leaves in the third and last hour of practice, with a burning turn of 1: 12,387. Norris ended in P2 behind his teammate with a time of 1: 12,913, in half a second behind the Piastri rhythm.

Piastri and Norris are the only two drivers that are below 1: 13,000 so far this week. Piastri has published two laps in range 1:12 this week, first on FP2 on Friday and then its thunderous effort in FP3.

Charles Leclerc finished third in FP3 with a lap or 1: 13,130, 0.743 seconds behind Piastri.
