The last two weeks have been a whirlwind for the transfer portal in university softball.
We saw multiple star players that were in the World Series at the University of Women’s announce their intention to transfer, and some of them have already found a new home in Lubbock,
But the carousel has stopped turning. Several talented players still weigh their options for the next season and many teams are still buying the portal, seeking to fill the holes and update the positions. According to ON3 classifications, eight of the 10 best players on the portal have signed with new teams.
These are the best players that go back on the softball portal:
Dakota Kennedy – Gardener, Arizona
A three-year starter for the Wildcats, Kennedy was an All-American and All-Big 12 selection this season. He was set aside during 17 games last year with a broken hand, but hit an average of .444 in 44 games. He also achieved 60 hits, 10 doubles, 28 walks, 25 ranges, and had an OPS or 1,228. California’s left gardener would be a great addition to any alignment.
Maya Johnson – Pitcher, Belmont
