Australian voters have given the Albanian government a second mandate in an overwhelming victory, but the property industry says that the government must directly work on the construction of more homes.
The Federal Labor Government was re -elected with a major majority of the seats and more authority on Saturday, with the recount of current votes and more than a cash electorate still too close to call.
Duration of the electoral campaign, the Albanian government promised billions of dollars to help first -home buyers to reach the property scale before and build more homes.
Now that the ALP Government has assured a second term, the Australian property industry has asked legislators not to save secondly in establishing the country’s housing crisis.
The managing director of the Association of Housing Industry (HIA), Jocelyn Martin, asked the newly elected government to make housing a first -order priority from the first day.
“Any delay or great policy will only deepen the nations housing crisis,” he said.
“Access to a house, either to rent or own, is becoming unattainable for too many Australians. This is a challenge that demands an important response in the first days and weeks of the new government term.”

The affordability of housing was a burning problem for voters through the campaign, with the Australians who demanded serious solutions to reduce the cost of rent and buy a house.
The president of the Royal Institute of Australia (Reia), Leanne Pilkington, said the elections underlined the importance of stable and practice housing policy.
“The return of the Labor to the position comes with a strong mandate to address the affordability and increase the property of the housing throughout the country,” said Pilkington.
“We appreciate the emphasis of work on supply and affordability. Support for buyers of the first house is a vital step to unite the general division in access to housing.”
The executive director of the Association of the Community Housing Industry (Chia), Wendy Hayhurst, said there was an urgent need for action on the affordability of housing, rental stress and lack of housing.
“We believe that this term of government presents a real opportunity to recently accelerate progress in the transformation of Australian housing landscape,” he said.
“When working together, we can make sure that each Australian has access to a safe, stable and affordable house.”

Voters will be waiting to see if the expensive work agenda of the last three years will deliver more homes and will make the houses more affordable in the coming years.
Since he was first chosen in 2022, the Labor Government has promised to spend more than $ 43 billion on its housing agenda.
Work housing promises
The Labor Government made a series of housing promises during the 2025 electoral campaign, including a $ 10 billion plan to build up to 100,000 new houses for first -home buyers.
The Plan would see the Government seek and present greedy lands of the Commonwealth and then allow the states and territories to accelerate the development process.

Other initiatives on the supply side included a plan to provide $ 2 billion in concessional loans to state governments for four years to boost housing supply.
The Labor promised to invest $ 78 million to accelerate the rating of 6,000 shops to build more homes in Australia and promised to give $ 54 million to the modular and prefabricated house industry in an offer in the housing building.
To help people enter the property scale before, the Albanian government promised to invest another $ 800 million to expand their help to buy a shared capital scheme, increasing income limits and the limits of property prices.
Additional financing will increase income limits from $ 90,000 to $ 100,000 for individuals and from $ 120,000 to $ 160,000 for joints and single parents.

The Government also promised to expand the housing guarantee deposit scheme to allow more housing buyers in the first house to buy a house with only a housing deposit of 5%.
According to the scheme, the government guarantees a part of the mortgage loan of a buyer to buy a house with a 5% deposit and avoid paying the mortgage insurance (LMI) of the lender. The expansion means that there will be greater limits of property prices and there are no limits in places or income for buyers.
To help borrowers of the first house, the Labor Government said it would soften the rules of home loans so that banks could exclude the feeling students from mortgage requests in an attempt to increase their debt power.
Duration of the campaign, the government introduced a prohibition of two years of foreign investors who buy existing housing, which began last month.
Labor has also promised to make domestic batteries cheaper in Australia in an attempt to reduce energy invoices for owners.
He promised to invest $ 2.3 billion to subsidize battery facilities in the home throughout the country, reducing the price of domestic batteries for homes, small businesses and community facilities by 30%.
