For decades, Botox® Cosmetic injections have allowed men and women to look as young as they feel without surgery or recovery time. This treatment is known to be a relatively low and convenient maintenance form of being more youthful, but that does not mean that minor reactions are not possible after injections. Redness, mild swelling, tenderness and bruises are the most common posterior effects, but not all patients experience bruises. This generally depends on many factors, such as:
- The injection site
- The experience and technique of your injector
- Your unique skin type
For more delicate areas, such as ocular contours, bruises are more likely. In any case, any bruise should be resolved naturally within a few days. To minimize the probability of bruises, we generally recommend avoiding blood medications (such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil) for a few days before its injections. After treatment, the application of a cold compress can help reduce swelling and potential bruises. Staying away from vigorous or strenuous exercise for a few days can also help prevent brief notices.
As a purified form of botulinum toxin, botox® The cosmetic can soften wrinkles relaxing the facial muscles that commonly form expression lines, such as the feet of the crow, wrinkles along the forehead and the lines frowning (“eleven wrinkles”). While only temporary results, Botox® The cosmetic can still provide a more renewed, carefree and energetic aspect when a qualified injector performs the treatment.
