WHOOP has somehow retreated from the controversial update plans around its physical conditioning trastor Whoop 5.0.
When the company first announced Whoop 5.0 this week, he said that the members who wanted the new device to extend their subscripts for 12 months or pay a unique update rate of $ 49 ($ 79 for the model with EKG sensors).
This seemed inconsistent with the general value proposal of Whoop, where it charges higher subscription prices (ranging between $ 199 and $ 359 a year) while allowing customers to update suware for free. More specifically, it seemed to contradict a statement on the company’s website promising free hardware updates of users if they have leg members for at least six months.
After the customers complained, the company responded with a Reddit publication that announced a more expansive update policy and claimed to clarify its general approach.
Now, any person with more than 12 months Removal in their subscription is eligible for a free update to Whoop 5.0 (or a refund if they already pay the rate). And customers with less than 12 months can extend their subscription to obtain update at no additional cost.
While the company said that these changes are making because “he heard his comments,” he also suggested that his team’s tisamad was linked to his transition from a model focused on the monthly or six -month subscription plans to one where he sacrias him.
“We must also recognize that a previous blog article incorrectly declared that anyone who had a leg member for only 6 months would recite a free update,” said the company. “This was never our policy and should never have been published.”

There is a mixed response to these changes in the SubnetDit Whoop, with a moderator that describes it as a “victory for the community.” Other posters were more skeptical, with a writing: “Do not publicly publicly public and stay up to date for years. Eliminate it after the reaction does not erase the fact [that] It is real. “
There were also a number of complaints from users who said they had 11 months in their subscriptions, so the free update limit was lost.
