The Euro Cup 10,000m is a fascinating event. Held in Pacé, France, during the last three editions, this is one of the 40 most events that are shown free of charge through the transmission on the European Athletics website. Phil Minshull provides reflective comments, allowing fans to enjoy events and not have to deal with constant comments. The good statistics and communication of exciting parts of the races are what highlights Minshull’s comments. He is a track fan who knows what fans like from the track.
The female career was fun to see, like the races of A and B of men. Now in its 27th possession, the EA Euro 10,000m Cup is a fascinating 25 LAPPERS event in Europe.
Jana Van Lent scored a great PB in her 10,000m Euro Cup victory. It was the first time for his country, Belgium, win the Euro Cup. To add more a story for the day, Belgium won the upper team for women in the 10,000m, surpassing Italy for only 20 seconds! Van Lent’s previous PB was 31: 59.6, the three scores scored and Herbiet had just won the European Road Race champions in the Half Marathon in April!
Efram Gidey gave Ireland his first victory in the Euro Cup 10000m on May 24! In March, in the Sound Running #10k Ephram broke the Irish NR of Alistair Cragg for 11 seconds (Alistair is now the coach of a Puma club in North America) with his his 27: 26.95. In January 2025, Efram Gidey broke the NR for 10K for a John Treay, Olympic bronze medista (the 1984, marathon) and twice XC world champion, with 27:43 of Gidey! Ephram Gidey is a member of the iconic Irish club, Conliffe AC!
The 10000m is a glorious event. 25 turns of movements similar to chess, where the red lines of the athlete and then, with approximately 800 to travel, only becomes a sprinter! In the world in 2025, there are only a handful of events focused on giving athletes at all levels the opportunity to really compete in 10,000 meters. The Euro Cup 10,000m is one of them. When the GBR team did not send a team, a British paid its own path and was rewarded with a PB! That is dedication!
Next year, we should have the night of 10,000 m PBS, presented by the Highgate Harriers in 2026. The event took a sabbatical year this year.
