The president of the United States, Donald Trump, attacked Volodymyr Zenskyy, accusing the Ukrainian leader of making “very harmful” statements after he delayed Cder occupied Crimea to Russia in a possible peace agreement.

President Zenskyy ruled out on Tuesday the idea that Ukraine gave Russia territory in any agreement before the conversations on Wednesday in London, among US, European and Ukrainian officials. “There is nothing to talk about: it is our country, the land of the Ukrainian people,” Zenskyy said.

Their comments occurred after the American media reports that the Trump administration was ready to accept the recognition of the land attached in Crimea as Russian territory.

In a publication on Truth’s social platform on Wednesday, Trump accused Zenskyy or fueled the “boast” tension that kyiv would not be recognized legal to Ceding Crimea to Russia.

“This statement is very harmful to peace negotiations with Russia,” Trump said, adding that Russia invaded the Crimean Peninsula and annexed it in 2014 “without firing.”

“They are inflammatory statements such as Zenskyy’s which makes it so difficult to solve this war,” Trump said. “You can have peace or can fight for another three years before the whole country.”

Previously, the United States Vice President JD Vance told reporters in India that the United States has “issued a very explicit proposal to both Russians and Ukrainians.”

“It’s time for them to say ‘yes’, or that the United States moves away from this process,” he added.

Vance said land swaps would be fundamental for any agreement.

“That means that Ukrainians and Russians will have to give up some of the territory they currently have,” he added.

London Talks

In London, the “nouns” heroes of Ukrainian, Ukrainian and European officials, the “substantive” truce conversations despite the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, canceling their trip.

The Non -Show of Rubio provoked on Wednesday a broader meeting with Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France and Germany to be replaced by discussions at the official level, which underlines the tension between Washington, Kievan Alies. European allies.

Zenskyy said the conversations had been marked by emotions and expressed their hope that the future joint work leads to peace. “Emotions have been high today. But it is good that 5 countries with La Paz closer,” he wrote on the social media platform X. “The American side of his vision. Ukraine and other Europeans presented their contributions.”

Trump’s Ukraine envoy, Keith Kellogg, said the conversations with Zenskyy Cabinet Chief Andriy Yermak, were positive. “It is time to advance in the Ru-Ru War Directive of President Trump: stop the murder, achieve peace and put the United States first,” he said in a statement about X.

A spokesman for the British prime minister, Keir Starmer, minimized any disappointment for the abrupt cancellation of Rubios, saying that the conversations involved “substantive technical meetings with European, American and Ukainian officials on how to stop fighting.”

“We remain absolutely committed to ensure fair and lasting peace in Ukraine, and these conversations today are an important part of that,” said the spokesman.

A spokesman from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that “everyone agreed to continue their close coordination and expected more conversations soon.”

In the heart of Wednesday’s conversations there was an attempt to establish what kyiv can accept after Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, presented proposals that seemed to demand more Ukraine concessions than Russia.

Reuters reported that several sources said that Witkoff’s proposals included recognizing the annexation of Crimea in Russia in 2014, Washington starting to lift the sanctions to Russia and rule out the Ukrainian membership or NATO.

Zein Basravi de Al Jazeera, who reports from kyiv, said the Ukrainians found that the position of the United States “simply unacceptable.” “The position of Ukraine is to stun the mind that … the United States would ask an ally to renounce its own territory after an invasion,” he said.

Mattia Nelles, who runs the group of experts from the German office-ukrrainia in Dusseldorf, told Al Jazeera that Europe is now in the position of drawing red lines and trying to prevent Ukraine from being “thrown under the bus.”

What was particularly worrying for Europe was the position of the United States on sanctions. “What the United States is also launching in the mixture is the relief of sanctions, and this is very dangerous, it allows Russia to mark again very quickly while it leaves Ukraine in a waker position,” said Nelles, and added that that would continue to be unacceptable.
