Cornell claims it somehow didn’t know about Jew-bashing Kehlani’s anti-Israel stance — and says it’s too late to cancel performance

The University of Cornell obtains an F in Research.

The president of the school, Michael Kotlikoff, said that the Ivy League Upstate school was not aware of Jehlani’s anti-Israel position, despite the information of the information AV by a simple online search.

Kotlikoff told the Cornell Student Assembly that it was now “too late” to throw the singer and composer and change another artist for Slope’s Day, the year’s end of the University of the University will be held on May 7.

“We discovered the social networks of this artist about three weeks ago,” Kotlikoff said, according to Cornell Daily Sun.

The president of the University of Cornell, Michael Kotlikoff, said that the Ivy League Upstate school was not aware of the anti-Israel posture of the Jewish musician Kehlani. Cornell University

“It is too late to assure another artist who will be acceptable or appropriate for the day of the slope,” he told the students.

Kotlikoff said the brass and university organizers did not know Kehlani’s political opinions at the beginning of negotiations so that she served last October.

But even basic research would have presented their views on social networks that support violence against Israel, students and outraged faculty told Monday.

In a signal of a violent reaction, the members of the Cornellians Student group for Israel have launched a petition and Gofundme Drive demanding that the school replace Kehlani with another artist or boycott the event and select their own Ontainer Ontainer campus.

The fury occurs after the administration of President Trump froze $ 1 billion in federal funds for the elite school in the middle of a civil rights investigation on what could not avoid anti -Semitic discrimination and harassment on campus.

“It is honestly ridiculous that they claim that they did not think of their glorification of violence, the support of an intifada or the demonization of the Jews,” said Amanda Silberstein, a 21 -year -old Junior who is president of the Schobal.

“A private researcher is not needed to discover that, just a quick look at his social networks.”

Kotlikoff told the Cornell Student Assembly that it was now “too late” to throw Kehlani and change another artist for the day of the slope.

As the Post reported on Sunday, the Watchdog Group StopantisemitisM exposed Kehlani Anti-Israel and anti-Semitic opinions in a position of July 12, 2024.

A single Google search with the words “Kehlani” and “Israel” provides dozens of Instagram successes about its hostility towards the Jewish state.

The R&B artist, nominated for the Multi-Grammy Award, published a music video last spring that begins with “Long live the intifada”, an inflammatory phrase that, according to critics, promotes violence against Israelis and Jews. He also shared an online map that eliminates the state of Israel and refused to condemn Hamas for the massacre of October 7, October 7, 2023.

“The most frustrating is hypocrisy at stake. If you had a history of attacking any other marginalized group, there is no doubt that Cornell has moved quickly to find a replacement,” said Silberstein.

“But when it comes to anti -Semitism, the bar is somewhat lower. All we are asking for is to have the same level of attention and protection as each good student on this campus.”

Silberstein said Slope Day is a festival that is supposed to join the student body.

“On the other hand,” he said, “this decision has fractured it, leaving many Jewish students like Myelf feeling abandoned by the same school that claims to prioritize inclusion and safety for all.”

If Cornell does not cancel Kehlani’s performance, Silberstein said the Pro-Israel group will find a “non-political and unifying” voice that will be presented at a counter on the campus.

The members of the Faculty were also disgusted by the divisive controversy.

“The selection of an artist who openly supports an intifada and a war against Israel reflects a toxic culture of the campus that the administration has ignored,” said Cornell Law professor William Jacobson, founder of the Equalprotect.org civil rights group.

Stopantisemitism, a Jewish defense group, urged Cornell Brass to do the right thing not to promote or tolerate an hate artist.

“The excuse of President Kotlikoff that is” too late to cancel “is a cowardly leadership abdication. There is never a deadline to do the right thing,” said the founder of Stopantisemitismm Lora Rez.

“If the hero interpreter addresses any other minority group, the university would act quickly. Jewish students deserve the same protection and respect.”

Kolithoff said the administration inserted a clause in the Kehlani contract that prohibits discussion about its political opinions duration of the action.

Hey also said that Kehlani did not express his opinions of actions of duration in his recent “Crash World Tour”, which included a final in the Northeastern University.

“That was a concert with exhausted entries that did not have political events,” said Kotlikoff, according to Cornell Sun. “And throughout all accounts, a very successful performance.”

Cornell has been started by numerous antiisraele protests during the past year and the life of Jewish students has been threatened.

Student Patrick declared himself guilty last year to threaten to kill Jews in the positions on the University’s website.
