Rafaela Ferreira eager to put heir Saudi Arabian GP experience into action in Miami

It was a difficult weekend for the F1 Academy driver Rafaela Ferreira at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.

Now, the Cash Racing Bulls Visa application driver is already anxious for the Miami Grand Prix in two weeks as an opportunity to put into action everything he learned in the Jeddah Corniche circuit.

Ferreira was classified as P13 for the F1 Academy races at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, and the first race ended in that same position. In the second race, he went up to P8 and ran at the points, but the contact with Emma Felbermayr in Tour 2 saw Ferreira hit with a penalty of ten seconds, which left her to P13 in the final classification.

“It was a different weekend for us, I think I struggled a little with the track, but we were promoting each time we exercise,” Ferreira said in the report after the team’s race. “The qualification is something I need to maximize a little better. Race 1, I fought a little, but race 2 was better. We took advantage of four cars at the beginning and we reached P8. It was a good race to be honest, I was pressing a lot like Gapd.

“I hit the car in front, which gave me a penalty of 10 seconds, which was a shame since we were at the points and we needed them.”

Ferreira now wants to take the lessons he learned in the fast street circuit in Saudi Arabia and put them into action in Miami, another street circuit.

“Now I am anxious for Miami and I am excited about that. We want to start the weekend there that we end here. I think we carry everything here and take it to Miami,” Ferreira added. “It’s another street circuit and I’m excited to go there.”

The F1 Academy, together with the rest of the F1 network, is directed to Miami for the Miami Grand Prix next week. SB nation You will have the ground coverage throughout the week, so return early and frequently!
