Ronald Acuña Jr. criticizes response to Jarred Kelenic’s lack of hustle

Ronald Acuña Jr. observed with interest when Jarred Kelenic was expelled to the second base after not leaving the batting box on a long trip in the 4-3 victory of the Atlanta Braves over the Minnesota Twins.

Acuña went to social networks to criticize the way manager Brian Snitker handled the situation.

Acuña, recovering from surgery after the tender Taft Acon last May, responded to an X position for MLB.com Mark Bowman on Sunday when Bowman was asked if Snitker had commented on Clenic. Bowman published that Snitker “protected Kelenic responding:” He was supposed to “when he was asked if he had told Kelenic something.”

Acuña responded to Bowman’s publication: “If it were me, they would get me out of the game.” Acuña’s response was removed about an hour later.

Celenic’s impulse on Saturday night bounced on the wall in the right garden, and Trevor Larnach threw him into the second base.

Acuña was withdrawn from the 5-3 victory of the Braves over the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 19, 2019. Then only 21, but it was already an All-Star, Acuña took to leave the batter’s box on a long journey that bounced on the right field wall for a long single.

Snitker waited an entrance and then taught Acuña.

“He did not run,” Snitker said about Acuña after the 2019 game. “You have to run. It will not be acceptable here. As a teammate, you are an answer for another 24 boys. That name on the front is much more important than the name in the back of that shirt. You can have the work and accommodation, and achievement that you have to be put in the background.

Acuña was evaluated the knee last week and has been authorized to begin while its rehabilitation continues. I could return to the alignment of the Braves next month.

Acuña was injured after 49 games last season and hit alone .250 with four homers, a year after winning the MVP of the National League with 41 homers, 73 robberies and a batting batting of .337.

The cellenic, hitting alone .170, could lose his initial job when Acuña returns. The Braves entered Sunday’s game with consecutive victories for the first time this season when the new initial batter and the left gardener Alex Verdugo had a quick start. Verdugo had four hits and led the progress race on Saturday night.

Associated Press reports.
