Another exciting qualification time expects the Formula 1 grid at the Spanish Grand Prix. The last triple sports header concludes with the Spanish Grand Prix of this weekend of the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, and today brings a last hour of practice ahead of the most important classification time.
The week begged with unbridled speculation about a new technical directive of the governing body of the F1, aimed at the “flexible wings” that have become an important topic of conversation in the last two seasons. While the sport imposed restrictions on the rear wings to begin the year, the strictest requirements, and the tests, they entered into force this week.
While some in the Paddock believed that this would be a “Gamecanger” in the hierarchical order, which has not yet materialized, at least based on the two hours of practice on Friday. Both McLaren drivers were strong in FP1 and FP2, with Lando Norris leading the timing leaves on FP1 and their teammate Oscar Piasstri at the head on FP2.
However, several teams and pilots are on the prowl, and with one more hour of practice before the qualification, there is even more for the teams to learn.
We will have today’s qualification session live, so come back early and frequently!
Here is the provisional initial grid, which will be completed through the qualification:

Q3
11:08: “I think we had a great deco on Friday,” says Verstappen. “Unfortunately it was not enough to challenge Pole.”
11:06: “Oscar led very well,” Betins Norris. “Oscar drove all the weekend.”
11:04: Alex Brundle with the interviews after the qualification in F1TV. First is his poles brotherhood, Oscar Piastri. “Yes, very happy, it has been a good weekend so far,” Betins Piastri. “I think we find some rhythm last night, and today the mega of the car of the car.
“I improved quite a lot in curve 1, actually,” Piastri added. “Everything occurred mainly in the first half of the return.”
11:01: Piasstri roars to the top of the time sheets with a 1: 11,546, which is 0.209 seconds ahead of Norris.
Verstappen takes P3. McLaren blocks the first row in Barcelona.
11:00: Norris turns purple through the first sector, but then Piaastri leads that effort. It seems a lot like a papaya shooting versus papaya.
10:59: The final thrust turns are underway, starting with Norris.
10:57: Hadjar unfolds, as the only driver who has not yet established a time. It seems that he will shoot this Q3.
Leclerc leaves his car, it seems that he will continue with what he has done, what he has in P4.
10:56: Alonso’s first thrust turn also Pips Verstappen, and Aston Martin’s veteran reaches P5, dropping Verstappen to sixth.
The crowd roars its approval.
10:54: LECLERC PIPS VESTAPPEN and slide into P4.
10:53: Norris goes to the provisional pole, and we have a first row of McLaren at the moment. Russell is in P3, while Verstappen’s first thrust was good four.
10:52: Piastri goes to the top with 1: 11,836. But it stands out, at least for my eyes, you can have a leg in curve 6.
10:49: 12 minutes and counting as the final segment of the qualification begins.
Q2
10:44: Ruth Busombe in F1TV points out that “Red Bull is still fighting with the subviring.”
10:41: Albon, Bortoleto, Lawson, Stroll and Bearman are the five eliminated drivers.
10:40: The final lap of Stroll’s thrust keeps it in the fall zone, and Aston Martin’s pilot will leave in the first quarter. The final impulse of Bortoleto also keeps him in P11, and he will also be out.
Hadjar jumps to P6, which eliminated Albon.
10:36: Russell also tells Mercedes that he is “happy to give” his teammate Antonelli a trailer “if necessary.”
And yes, there are dark clouds on the horizon. We will see if the teams come out earlier than expected to make sure they get a good round here at the end of the Q2.
10:34; George Russell, Weatherman. “Dark clouds in the distance by [Turn] 13. “
10:33: Piastri jumps to P1 with the first U-1 effort: 12 of the day, while pumping on a 1: 11,998 turn.
With seven minutes removed and each driver had published a lap, the five drivers in the fall zone are: Bortoleto, Lawson, Albon, Stroll and Bearman.
10:31 am: Verstappen Goes P1 with a 1: 12,358, but then Norris guides it with a 1: 12,056.
10:28: Alonso is back on the track, along with most drivers. Only Piastri, Russell and Antonelli remain in Pit Lane.
10:27: Alonso immediately returns to Pit Lane at the end of his return.
10:26: We have a green light in Barcelona with 15 minutes and counting on the clock. 15 drivers remain, and five more will be eliminated at the end of this segment. Alonso, Albon and Bearman are the first drivers to take to the track.
Q1
10:23: Alex Brundle in F1TV walks through Tsunoda’s final return, speculating that the tires move away from RB21 at the end of the return. “The car really doesn’t turn to him,” Brundle describes when Tsunoda enrolls the third sector. “It simply doesn’t have the front.”
10:21: “This is just a disaster for Red Bull,” says Jolyon Palmer in F1TV. “How do you explain it?”
10:19: Bearman jumps to P11, which eliminated his teammate Ocon.
Yuki Tsunoda has also eliminated the bone, along with Hülkenberg, Ocon, Sainz and Colapinto.
10:18: Colapinto has stopped aside and has been eliminated.
10:17: Bortoleto jumps to P8 and Hülkenberg to P10, which means that there is some time in these final turns. No one should feel safe.
10:16: A little problem in Pit Lane. Colapinto was at the front of the pack and experienced a problem with his car, forcing the rest of the network behind him to try to approach him to take the track.
10:15: Less than four minutes in the Q1 and Pit Lane seems that Route 50 went to East towards Ocean City, Maryland, on Friday in the summer.
10:12: Max Verstappen’s first round divides the McLarens. It is 0.247 seconds behind Piastri, and only 0.001 seconds ahead of Norris.
Now that each driver has completed a thrust turn, the five drivers in the elimination zone are Nico Hülkenberg, Esteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz Jr., Yuki Tsunoda and Gabriel Bortoleto.
10:10: AT DE TI OSCAR PIASTRI. The McLaren driver publishes a 1: 12,551 with his first thrust, well for P1 and 0.248 seconds ahead of Norris.
10:09: Liam Lawson jumps to P1, but it’s just for a moment. Kimi Antonelli, but then Lando Norris roars P1 with a 1: 12,779.
George Russell then cuts the beam just 0.007 seconds behind Norris.
10:05: Upon less than 13 minutes in Q1 and after some of the drivers in the back of the early grid post in the times, the rest of the grid extends to the circuit.
The Lance promenade currently heads the time sheet, followed by Alexander Albon and Franco Colapinto
10:00: There is a green light at the end of the lane in boxes and we have 18 minutes on the clock. Franco Alpine Colapinto is the first driver on the track.
9:59: We are waiting for the green light to start the rating in the Spanish Grand Prix.
Updates before qualifying

9:30: And we are live.
If you are excited, there is another live blog to qualify this morning, you can thank the God of the weather. The heavy rains here in Maryland washed the double travel baseball header today, not only did they save a two -hour trip this morning, but allowed me to establish myself to see some qualification. So, there is that.
FP3 notes
It was another papaya team command performance on FP3.
Piastri headed the synchronization leaves in the third and last hour of practice, with a burning turn of 1: 12,387. Norris ended in P2 behind his teammate with a time of 1: 12,913, in half a second behind the Piastri rhythm.
