Instagram head, Adam Mosseri, 42, says he was very close to being a well -played victim or Shema that involved some “Google domains” of very real appearance.

Mosseri wrote in Threads, which, as Instagram, is owned by the goal of Mark Zuckerberg, said Tuesday that “he experienced a sophisticated Phishing attack yesterday.”

Mosseri said he received a call from an 818 number (and replied). The person he called said his “Google account was compromised and sent an email to confirm the identity.”

“On the phone, they asked me to change my password using my gmail application and that * does not say my new password out loud. What was impressive was that your email came from the formular-reheipts-noreply@google.com and linked to sites.google.com/view … Whatch.

“The email and the form come from Google’s safe domains (through Google products) they could have received me if I had heard from a friend who experienced a similar attack a year ago,” he added. “Does anyone know someone on Google who can want this context?”

Thread users, or course, had one day in the comments. To start, many wondered how the best Instagram chief does not know someone on Google. There were also many jokes.

“> Sophisticated attack,> Google called me,” a user replied.

“Adam, I can help you here. I just need your mother’s bachelorette name and the street where you grew up,” said another.

“Isn’t he the Chief of Instagram believing that Google calls you on the phone to restore his password?” The comments continued.

The official wire account of the Google work space thanked Mosseri for “marking” and reminded him that the company “never” will call him.

“We suspend that form and site yesterday, and constantly launched defenses against this type of attacks. As a reminder: Google will never call it on their account,” they wrote, adding a link to their blog “How to detect scams.”

Other users said he reminded them of a similar Google Phishing scheme of 2022.

Even so, with all the competition in Silicon Valley, we could not avoid asking ourselves: Do all Meta executives use Gmail and the set of Google products?
