Hannah Haehn, co -founder of Home Goods Store the Post Supply, lives with their two children in the house of the deceased grandparents in Los Angeles. “My father recently made some renovations, but before that, he had a Tweed Bachel wallpaper and a brown carpet,” he laughs. “It was beautiful, but definitely an atmosphere of that time!” Here is a look inside …
Living room
SOFA: IKEA. Coffee table: Wayfair. Sail: the posterior supply. Ratán armchair: Ikea. Return: vintage. Piano for Children: Family Hand-Me-Down. Printing: “Living on Earth” by Alicia Bay Laurel.
About relaxing: I feel that the key to a cozy house is to have nothing too precious. I obtained a sofa with roofs that can be launched in the washing because everyone is armed under the blankets and eat snacks, without stress on spills or crumbs. The more elements are used and used, the more welcoming and homely they feel.
In a trick for brilliant lighting: I believe in the three levels of the rule of light. First, you have a level of light at a higher level, such as a high floor lamp. Then you have a light that is at the face level, like an applique. Finally, the third light is under you, such as a table lamp or a candle. There is something at those levels that make the room feel wrapped and warm.
In a new child or inactivity time: This year, I decided to leave all my TV subscriptions because turning between programs did not make me feel good. Now, if I want to see something, I need to pay to run the series or movie, which makes me see only things that I really like.
Shelves: Ikea.
In hobbies: I played the guitar since I was 16 years old, and I like to play at home for my children. Lately I’ve been at Old Carter Family Songs and Johnny Cash. I like anything in the sad scene of country music. If it makes you cry, I like it!
Kitchen
Remembering loved ones: I feel the presence of my more grandparents in our kitchen. Growing up, I sat at his table and ate German bread and very intense cheese, while looking at my grandmother to cook Hetfnudel (Steamed buns) or Kartoffelsuppe (Potato soup). Every time I wash dishes, standing right where she was stopped, I feel her with me.
Painting: Behr blue admiral. Cup: Ginny Sims.
In blue cabinets: My dad painted these bright French blue cabinets. It adds to the combination of aesthetics in this house, there are many things! The memories of my grandparents have a European old world sensation, and my own furniture is more modern. But it’s fine: life is a generational collection of moments in time.
In recipes: I have cooked on Health Nuth’s legs by Jess Damuck, and she makes a really pleasant tahini banana bread. I also do lots or soup. A year, my son gave me a can of soup for my birthday because he said it was my favorite thing.
Dining room
Dining table: savings. Dining chairs: Wayfair. Credenza: Vintage Henry Link. Collanging lamp: Ravenhill Studio.
When learning German: My grandfather was born in Luxembourg, and my father’s first language was German. I always wanted to talk to my grandparents in their own language, so I did German classes at the university, and grateful, I could have a conversation in German with them before they died.
Open by: We can squeeze 10 people around our dining table and invite friends for vegetarian paste. Most of the time, my friends will be allowed to enter before getting home, so by when we introduce ourselves, families are already playing and eating palettes deficiency outside. And he feels so good. My grandparents always organized, so it seems that the relationships that are formed in this house are blessing.
In resources: This is my grandmother’s cabin, and has all my excellent-Gendmas China. It means a lot to me.
Bed
Bed: Vintage. Bedding: Matteo. Lamps: Hannah’s mother was transmitted.
In strong women: I love this impression on my bed of Danny Lyon: he presents photos of his wife with his baby, and is called the Super Woman poster, a super woman, but also because they are a mother. I love this house and took advantage of the energy of the strong female figures when I enter.
Thank you very much, Hannah!
PD more home tours, including a single mother in an apartment with a very colorful Swing and a house of Connecticut.
