On Wednesday, CEDARS-SINAI and NEDSIGN HEALTH launched a new innovation center that seeks to build new digital health companies from scratch.

Cedars-Sinai, based in Los Angeles, includes more than 40 hospitals and clinics, with more than 4,500 doctors and nurses. The Rediseño based in New York City is a company that creates new health companies, which has left more than 60 new companies since it was founded in 2018.

Together, the two partners seek to build at least a handful of new companies in the coming years, said Bardia Naet, associate director of Digital Strategy and Business Development at CEDARS-SINAI.

He pointed out that new thesis companies will focus on four main areas: access to attention, personalized medicine, supplier workflows and care coordination.

The initial creation process will begin with the supply of founders and the development of concepts, Nabet explained. Then, the HUB will provide these founders access to clinical experts and the synthetic data platform of CEDARS-SINAI, as well as to commercial advisors and the NEDSign investors network.

Cedars-Sinai will be the first big client for the new solutions that emerge from startups, allowing real world and rapid validation tests, Nabet added.

“We will become the first client for the solution, so helping to pilot it, implement it and participate in research studies to publish in academic magazines to validate the solution,” he said.

He also noted that the Innovation Center creates a formal internal route for innovation directed by clinicians, with the aim of encouraging staff to become entrepreneurs.

Having access to the Neda Neda Network or Entrepreneurs will help guide clinical innovators as they go to the world of business, said Neil Patel, head of companies of the company.

“In redesign, we have learned first-hand that successful health innovation is not just about good ideas, it is about execution, market adjustment and clinical validation. The deep clinical experience and commitment of CEDARS-SINAI with patient care.

With startup boxes under his calls, redesign has established a repeatable process to build successful digital health companies, Patel said.

When taking his model to Cedars-Sinai, he said that redesign is looking to transform clinical ideas into sustainable opportunities ready for the market that improve patient care.
