Architect couple’s cottage flip puts ‘secret suburb’ on the map

The lovely homemade flip of an architect couple has put a suburb of Gold Coast Hinterland little known on the map.

Rebecca and Murray Stewart have listed their beautifully renewed surface property in Nranwood, a small semi-rural community with a population of only 79 people.

Located in 10 acres, the three bedroom house and three bathrooms offers a rare combination of total privacy, views of the horizon that extend from the main beach to Miami and the easy access to schools, stores and beach.

Impressive surroundings of the interior

The couple, who has two young children, bought the property at 37 Lowry Court in September last year, attracted to their isolation, surprising coastal perspective and a remarkable connection with nature.

“The property originally caught our attention due to access to such a large plot of private land so close to the children’s school, access to M1 and the beach in 20 minutes,” Stewart said.

“In the inspection, the views impressed us, since the images never do justice to the iconic Gold Coast horizon.

“Immediate access to the Australian shrub and Hinze Dam on foot made this block such an exciting treasure.”

Offers of around $ 1.5 million are sought

With several renovations already under the belts, the architect Mr. Stewart and his master wife aimed to achieve a balance between defending the style of the property cabin and creating a space that was “warm and welcoming but elegant and timeless.”

“We loved the aesthetics of the country’s country, nothing too ex -obversted, but a sensation of cabin with the surround terrace, the sounds of the life of birds and visiting kangaroos,” Stewart said.

There is a hydromassage bathtub and an ice bath

The works included opening the kitchen, adding an additional bedroom, remodeling two bathrooms and improving the internal exterior connection with new romantic arched doors and windows.

Multiple entertainment spaces were created, which include a terrace, a patio, a large outdoor table, to the bathtub and an ice bath.

The ground floor was reinvented as a family space, with a new bathroom, laundry, construction in literas, playground and second television area.

Externally, the Stewarts cleared the fire path and added a view platform, with the potential to further expand the usable area of the property.

Located on the Mudgea and Bonogin border, Nranwood is a large unknown pocket with only a handful of houses, residents of the Kwila Lodge wedding place and a dispersion of tea stores.

Marketing agent Nicole Carter, or McGrath Southport, said it was strange that the houses came to the market in the area, with only one or two sales recorded annually.

Two bathrooms were remodeled

The demand had been strong of the locals who pursue a private retirement near the best schools and services.

“We have flooded with calls mainly because it is very private but also new,” Carter said.

“The owners have maintained the original building but modernized it inside to raise it to the standard today and at the same time fit the beautiful national environment.”

The house has been widely renewed

Windows arched frame the view

Mrs. Carter said that the hidden nature of the suburb was part of her attractiveness, despite the 10 minutes of Mudgea already the 20 minutes of robin and the beach.

“It is a beautiful section that is quite hidden, so even many Gold Coast locals do not know what exists,” said Mrs. Carter.

“It is perfect for families who want to experience what it would be like to get out of the network, but still because being close to the coast and all comforts,” Carter said.

Expressions of interest in $ 1.5 million are sought.
