India should take signs of the American-Real Commercial Pact and exercise while negotiating a Araise with the United States to ensure that the agreement is reciprocal, balanced and not driven by solidarity considerations, Economic Think said the trade said the trade.

The limited commercial agreement announced between the United States and the United Kingdom on May 8 offers clues about the type of commercial agreements that Washington can continue with other important partners, most India said.

A closer look reveals that, although the United Kingdom has made radical tariff concessions to the United States, the United States has sacrificed much less in return, he added.

“If the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom establishes the template, India can expect a growing pressure from the United States to finish a mini treatment is focused on the rate cutting and key strategic comfort instead of a complete free trade that can come later,” the thought said.

You can also ask that India reduce tariffs on a basket of sensitive agricultural products, including soybeans, ethanol, apples, nuts, raisins, avocados, spirits and poultry).

Tariff concessions in Motorobiles are also expected, since India already agreed to reduce tasks in selected vehicles from the United Kingdom from 100 % to 10 percent under its recently announced on May 6.

“As with the United Kingdom, the United States is also expected to push India for large -scale commercial purchases. These could include oil, LNG, military and civilians from Boeing, helicopter or even nuclear reactors,” the founder of GTRI, Ajay Srivastava Srivastava, with caution while negotiating the bilateral trade agreement with the United States.

The United Kingdom agreed to reduce tariffs by about 2,500 American products, from olive oil to ethanol, signing a deep opening of the market. In contrast, the United States has reduced tariffs in less than 100 British items, and even then, most reductions stop in a baseline or 10 percent instead of total elimination, he said.

“India should not enter a similar trap. Any commercial agreement with the US. It must be reciprocal and equitable, not driven by once. India must insist on a balanced, fair and sovereign approach to negotiations. Agreement,” said Srivastava.

A team of senior India officials is expected to come to visit Washton this month to maintain discussions with their American counterparts about the proposed BTA.

To promote the conversations, the main negotiator of India, Rajesh Agrawal, special secretary of the Department of Commerce and the American trade representative of Asia Sur and Central Brendan Lynch had conducted three -day conversations in Washington.
