Sprinter Health Raises $55M to Expand Home Health Services for Health Plans

Sprinter Health, a mobile medical service provider, has raised $ 55 million in B series funds to help the company expand its team and their footprint, Thorsday announced.

Sprinter Health, based in Menlo Park, California, works with health plans and offers virtual care both at home and at home. Its community -based health personnel, called Sprinters, and remote practicing nurses provide diagnostic exams, vital controls, medication management support, welfare visits and attention navigation. The sprinters are W-2 employees and are certified as phlebotomists and trained with medical assistants and skills of community health workers. They can also identify non -satisfied social needs, such as falling risks or food insecurity, and connect patients with resources to address those needs.

“We are mainly focused on reaching populations that are largely disconnected from the health system: we specialize in deceiving the unwritten,” said Max Cohen, CEO and co -founder of the company, in an email.

The B series round of $ 55 million was directed by Catalyst General and included the participation of Andreessen Horowitz (A16Z) Bio + Health, the Regents of the University of California, Google Ventures and Accel. In total, Sprinter Health has raised more than $ 125 million.

“We believe that Sprinter Health is emerging as a company that defines the category in home care,” said Holly Maloney, managing director of General Catalyst, in a statement. “They have built the technological infrastructure to make attention both shocking and shocking for the people who need it most.”

Financing will help Sprinter Health to increase their clinical equipment, engineering, AI and operations, Cohen said. The company will also add new geographical regions to provide more coverage to its paying partners. It currently operates in 18 states and plans to expand to 22 by the end of summer, according to the announcement. The sprinters have also completed almost 100,000 visits in houses of people.

The financing reaches a point where access to quality care is a challenge, and it is too expectation campaign. This is what Sprinter Health expects to address with his virtual care model at home, Cohen said.

“Obtaining basic tests and exams for treatable diseases alone is increasingly difficult for people of all ages due to the cost, distance or inability to discover the complex health system in this country. Already very under the system,” he said. “Private innovation capital allows the development of alternative models that can bend these cost curves, and our success in the name of the paying partners until now engenders greater innovation and investment at the continuous scale of these solutions.”

There are several other companies that provide home and virtual attention, including Dispatchhealth, which recently acquired Medical Home, another home care provider.
