Deion Sanders focuses on QB battle, not jersey ceremony, at Colorado’s spring game

Deion Sanders did not have a full time change at the time, since his son, Shedeur, and his right one less than a travel hunter, withdrew his shirts on Saturday before the spring game.

The Colorado coach had too many other obligations: to review his new QB, see special equipment and make sure the product was intertwined for an adjustment of the national television audience.

He appreciated the moment, he thought, even if the shirt retirement has marked some former players and fans of Colorado.

“I looked at both eyes, I know (Shedeur and Travis) were pleased, they were grateful and proud,” said Deion Sanders. “That means a lot to me.

“The period of time, nobody will be happy. Someone always has something to say. But the way we are at this time, we are a generation now … those guys deserve what they deserve now. So I am.”

It was one of the last times that Hunter and Shedeur Sanders will join the grass in Folsom Field. Standing in the center of the field, they saw their numbers of Jersey retired, No. 2 for Sanders, No. 12 for Hunter, presented on the east face of the stadium.

This started a week busy for Hunter, the winner of the Heisman trophy, and Sanders, the winner of the Johnny Unitas award as the best QB of university football. Both are expected to be high of the draft when the NFL draft begins the Thorsday.

Once the retired ceremony concluded, the buffaloes contacted the football business.

Namely, find a successor for Shedeur Sanders.

It is believed to be a two -year race between Kaidon Salter, a transfer of Liberty, and Julian “Juju” Lewis, the five -star recruit that arrived at the campus last fall to start early.

Lewis was the first to take the field and there was early nervousness. He mixed the pass with the race, which will be a family view since Colorado Emhasiza the land game this season now that the younger Sanders have left. The buffalo brought the member of the Marshall Faulk fame as the runner coach to provide a spark.

“He is still a young man,” said Deion Sanders about Lewis. “We don’t care about age and stage, he thought.”

Salter showed the balance of a veteran when it was his turn. The double threat QB launched 56 TD in Liberty and ran 21 scores.

“I fell in love with the offensive,” said Salter about why he chose Colorado. “We have a completely loaded staff here knows what is needed to reach the next level.”

Shoedereur Sanders walked along the lateral line, taking the action of his apparent heirs, Lewis and Salter. Looking was also Hunter.

Sanders and Hunter became the fifth and sixth players in the 135 years of Colorado History in retiring their shirts.

Half the time, the Buffaloes announced that the late Bill McCartney would be honored next season with a statue. McCartney, who addressed his only National Football Championship in 1990, died in January at 84.

Bring Syracuse?

The assistance was announced to 20,430 fans, which was less than the two previous spring games. Sanders believes that the NCAA rejected a plan to play in Syracuse Hurt ticket sales. Still, he wants to see more full seats.

“We have a tremendous fan base, but we need a little more support when it comes to what we do on the stage,” Sanders said. “We should pack it as if it were a game.”

Walk-on honest

Sanders gave Walk-on Ben Finneth’s security.

“As soon as I put my head on my shoulder, I said:” Thank you for believing in me. “Because he believes in me from day 1,” said Finneth. “I can’t thank everyone enough to give me the opportunity.”

Associated Press reports.
