It was believed that three terrorists were killed in a meeting with security forces in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities said.
Based on a specific contribution on the presence of terrorists in the Shukroo Keller area of the South Cashmiro district, the security forces launched a cord and search operation there.
They said that the search operation became an encounter after terrorists shot the forces that retaliate.
In the exchange of fire, it was believed that three terrorists were killed since their bodies were seen in the area of deep vegetation in the forests, officials said.
The bodies were not yet recovered, they added.
The operation is ongoing.
